I just purchased a Remington 700 ADL in .308, I will be sighting it in tomarrow. My question for yall is, what ammo have yall found to shoot best with this rifle? Thanks.

Core-lokt is the best off the shelf for my 270. Cheap and works well.
I'll say that hand loaded is better but if you're going off the shelf, the green and yellow box works.

For me more often than not, Core Lokt is just the ticket. I have a rifle in .270 Win. that LOVES the stuff, so I got a few boxes of the same lot#.

Yep, Core Lokt for me. Use in the 243, 270, 30-06 and 308. Picked up several boxes today at the new Academy in Denton, still under $19.

Never had Core-Lokt shoot worth a darn in anything I've put it in. That ammo just doesn't like me.
Back when I was buying ammo, Hornady always impressed me. I helped a friend with ammo testing last month. I shot his Rem 700 .308 for groups and, again Hornady shot the best. Like 3/4" or better for five shots at 100 yards. The other five brands of ammo I tested shot 1" or larger.

Hornady used to just make me see red after using it in my 257 wmag. It shot around an inch for my 270 but the coreloks just flat out like my gun. I aint gonna argue with it till it stops working.

My Rem 700 7 Mag loves the Core-lokt bullet. I tried others in it and wasn't impressed. So I bought the Core-lokt bullets for the Weatherby 308 as well. I used some reloads in it to get the sights close and then fine tuned with the Core-lokt which I hunt with. Worked great so far.

I have four .308's in various configurations and all of them shoot perfectly fine with Core-Lokt. Might not get gnat-butt groups, but for general hunting and casual shooting they're hard to beat, inexpensive, and easy to find.

Gnats [censored] groups are over rated in a hunting rifle. Coreloks put down many a deer every year.
