My UTV is a gas powered Honda Pioneer 700cc-4 seater and I have zero problems coming up on the hogs with the Red LED headlamp blaster on.

In fact, I wired all the thermal, IR night vision, and the Red LED into the auxillary battery so that they stay on when I kill the motor, only the white LED lights and headlamps are killed with the ignition switch.

I have come right up onto numerous hogs at night with no problem, even leaving the red LED on during the entire shooting episode, not a hog noticed?

All the thermal shooting was done in the UTV with the Red LED Larson Electronic's blaster on with zero notice by the hogs, except my first foot stalk of the long range deer herd bedded down was on foot (when I saw there were deer I just turned around and made the long walk back to the UTV.)

Be sure to hang downwind of them, the entire time the thermal was on in the videos, the RED LED hyper blaster had the entire place all lite up saturated in RED visible light...

I have tried shoosting my red light into the sky and only bringing down the halo onto the piggies whilst standing down windage and the result is

bolt bolt bolt

Red Blue Green Yellow LED LASER ETC all yeild same result(s) if they are mature hogs on my piece of land.

What am I doing wrong?

It is not what you are doing wrong, it is what I am doing right!

In the Thermal Videos, the hogs are taking a bath in visible red light during the entire video sequence without a single hog being concerned about anything as long as they do not smell my presence.

Hell, I could run them over with the UTV easy enough using the RED LEDs.

Maybe I will weld on a multiple one inch thick steel round bar stock on to the front end and spear a couple of them with the Red Leds on, that impalement of hog should make for some exciting video! elmer

Thom "The Impaler", he who bathes his prey in RED light prior to embedding it with lead or steel.

Not only would I buy the DVD video but I would ask you to sign it.

SP, no doubt that the Larson product line is very impressive, but exactly which light setup are you using?

A link maybe?

I am using the Larson IR and Red Led, they are outstanding professional mil-spec instruments.

Here is a link to the Red Led:

Here is a link to the 850nm IR LED:

If you can find a better IR or RED LED light than what Larson's sells, buy it! wink

Thanks for the links.
You post a video of the skewering them, and I'll put one on here of catching em in my dip net.

A helmet mounted FLIR M-24 is a super sweet kit with the Wilcox adapter mount too!
