Are you loading cartridges for your rifle?

If so, factory OAL doesn't matter. Find the lands in relation to YOUR chamber.

In loading for my wby I found that loading as long as the magazine allows usually works well.

Call Weatherby, they're usually pretty quick with stuff like that. I'm sure they know what it is off the top of their heads. Unfortunately with the 30/378, if you tried to load to the lands, you'd probably be over magazine length by the time you got there. Yay freebore.

Yeah when I started loading for my 300 wby a 220 gr round nose was the first bullet I loaded for it. I barely stuck the bullet in the case neck just enough to hold it and it would chamber just fine. Now my first try on new loads is max length to feed from magazine or if the bullet has a canelure Ill try it.

That is what I measured from factory loads and hand load with that data.

I used the mm since that is what my digital caliper is set to.
