I know stupid place to do it but i shot her as i was walking to my car to go to work.so after the shot i tagd her and threw her in the jeep after i clocked in at work i left to the closest place to field dress her which was walmart parking lot so i picked a corner and kinda got behind my jeep and went to work. after i field dressed it and put the guts in the bag i started to get a bad feeling. so i load every thing up and start to leave as i pull out of the parking lot a cop passes me then flips a around so i know what the deal is. pull over blah blah blah they call a GW he shows up gives me a little blah blah but all n all he was cool. so end of story he took my tags left my deer and said he will be having another GW call me and visit my hunting spot aka my house and snoop around. I asked him since i did nothing rng y u taking my tags said i didnt fill them out correct which is true my fault didnt know the rules but i should of. for the record you have to punch the dates and times on the tags and fill out the back of the card as well as the tag. im shure im the onley one who didint listen during my hunters ed course so... you reap what you sow. LOL well ill never do that again

Hmmm.......... I've had soccer moms pull up and raise hell about (legally) dove hunting in city limits, I can just imagine the looks he got dressing a deer in a parking lot.

Its stuff like this that gives hunters a bad reputation to the public. Maybe not so much in Texas but many other states....

I took a hunter ed course in Iowa a few years back when I was living there. The conservation officer made a good point that the number of people that want hunting to go away for good are much, much, much greater than the number of hunters.

If folks spent 10 minutes in a slaughterhouse, they would have a different perspective of hunting.

did i ever mention the time was doing some field dressing at Gander Mnt.. people was a gathering a round gandering while twas dismounting me hunting cloths & mounting inta skivey cloths. whin the cop droped bye. he called the GW for his juradickson tis more in clined with what was going on, the reports of a critter running bare. moron the story later

Is it any different than posting your hunting photos on Facebook or some other social networking website and acting like a jerk about it? Both parking lots and websites are public places. In fact, social networking websites are even more so.

I'm equally concerned about the fact that he didn't cut-out the date and fill in the hunters log. Is this the first deer he's ever killed? Sounds like it could be

I read the whole story. He works on commission. Not really a time clock to punch. He shot the deer from his front yard when walking out to go to work. Put deer in back of jeep. Pic looked like maybe in the back or off to the side of Walmart. This was in Harker Heights, just outside of Killene.
