Just picked up my Aero Precision Upper and Lower, so I'm looking for a barrel recommendation. Gun will be used for hunting (primarily from blind)and shooting out to 700 yards for fun. I would prefer medium to heavy contour vs. M4 or bull barrel Plan is to shoot 168 grain AMax.

Look at rainier arms they are great barrels. Also I'm not for sure about areo, but I'm guessing they're DPMS pattern make sure you know before buying since DPMS and armalite have different barrel extensions.

They have the Select, Match and Ultra Match series. All are guaranteed to shoot sub MOA and the Ultra Match is capable of about half that !!
Before you order let me know I can get you a smoking deal on barrels ATM

I have an ar10T that just wouldn't group for nothing, wasn't excessively copper fouled, crown didn't appear knicked. Replaced the factory barrel with a 21" Noveske barrel ...fixed. That being said, i did have my eye on a 24" Ranier UltraMatch barrel (intending to shorten it to 22") or do a Lilja in 260. Happy with my Noveske and its a shooter. Shot a 3.75" 5 shot group at 500yds with SSA 175 hpbt ammo.

How you got this hook up Brandon? I love my rainier SBR barrel for 10.5 inches it's pretty dang accurate at 100 yards especially since I'm shooting it with a red dot. Was thinking about up grading my factory barrel out of my MK3 want 16" maybe 18".

In that price range you might take a look at Black Hole Weaponry as well. Some folks are getting good results with them.

The price is right the BHW barrels, and they are highly touted over at the Predatormasters forum. I haven't shot it enough to know what it'll do, but the bore felt nice and smooth and didn't foul much with the first few rounds I put through it. I need to get some handloads made up and start testing it. I will say I would highly recommend an adjustable gas block with any of these 308 based ar builds. My .260 was way overgassed until I closed the block most of the way.
