Got drawn for the postcard hunt on GEWMA. It was hot but we had a good time. Elkslayer hooked up with a deer but I hooked up with two hogs. Hog 1: first morning sitting in my popup over a ridge and some hand corn. Just after legal shooting light I can make out a hog that looks to be limping. So he gets it in the shoulder and does the good old bang flop. Ended up having some nice hardware so I'll be doing a euro. His front leg was all shriveled up and he had been using his knee to walk.   Hog 2: the next evening 20 mins before legal ending time hog 2 steps out on a ROW and I try to get a shot but can't before she makes it into the woods. So in abut 5 minutes she comes back out and I giver her a dose of lead at 236 yards (my new persobal best) she took of with her head a lot lower than her butt but I didn't think I hit her. Went to look for blood and there was good blood at the shot and blood all over stuff in the woods. She ran about 75 yards.  This is one of my spots on the ROW that I like to call the snipers perch.  Watched these two spikes spar for about 30 minutes at 289 yards.  Over all it was a good hunt and we had a good time. Got my wife and sister out for their first deer hunts. They weren't successful in taking anything but both still had a good time.

Good Hunt! What did ya'll hit that doe with or did a coyote take a rump roast? That, fortunately, was not our deer. Some other hunter was trying to line up two deer for a one shot kill and knocked the crap out of the fawn but the other ran away...

In that regard, a mouth off the habitat is a mouth off the habitat.
