Looking for some day quail hunting (blues or bobs) withing 3 or 4 hours from Kerrville, at around $150.00 per day. Do not need a guide or dogs. We have all our own equipment, etc. - just need a place to hunt. We normally use Polaris rangers so can not be restricted to roads only. Will consider paying more if accommodations are available - but as stated above - they are not necessary.
This group normally consists of 4 older hunters who have been hunting together for years. We are respectful of the land and always keep and remove all empty hulls and trash.

That and you probably didn't want to hunt pin raised birds.

From all the calling I have done, I think you are going to have to drive 6 hours from Kerrville to get into a solid bobwhite crop. I had two different friends hunt the Albany to Abilene area this past weekend, and one found 0 coveys and one found 2 coveys (both pointed). Lean in that part of the Rolling Plains this year

I agree - the quail count is really down this year almost everywhere.
