Seems like every time I'm there he's not. And every time I'm not he is there.
Put in 3 days(6 hunts) opening weekend and Monday on him. Only saw him once and it was Saturday evening and he stepped out right at dark at 150 yards so no shot.
Figured I'd give the area a break last week since it was hot but that was my mistake because he hit the feeder regularly and basically every feeding.
So I said I'll hunt him hard during the weekend again. Set sat morning, evening and Sunday evening. Didn't see him at all.
Checked the camera again after this evenings hunt, sure enough he was there Sunday morning and I was not...
This deer has proven very difficult to hunt despite his regular occurrence on camera all year long.
He was wounded or shot last year and I think that's the reason why he's been so hard to hunt. I know I will be proud if I get him with all the time I've put into this guy so far.

Here's a view pics of him..

He'll be the biggest deer I've ever killed if I get him.
I got a feeling he'll disappear by rifle season.
Any ideas on age and score??
I know he's mature.. 4.5 or 5.5

You may be making too much noise or leaving too much scent on your way to your stand.

I would call him 4 and a trophy for the wall. Would not worry about score.

Sweet buck. Sounds like he has patterned you. Might try a different approach to the stand. I had one that patterned me so I waited until after the feeder went off and snuck in and there he was. Good luck up

Yep. Sometimes you just have to make some changes or get lucky.

We had one that we hunted for three years. The stand was set up for a south wind and he would only show up with an East wind or a North wind. Every day I had him on camera, I could check the wind and sure enough he was like clock work. There was no way to hunt the stand with either wind unless we switched to a gun and we wanted to take him with a bow. My father finally killed him on a hunt that the wind switched from South to East close to dark...

Try looking at how you approach the stand or if there are any other reasons why he might show when you aren't there compared to when you are. Or set up a new spot within about 100 yards and see if you can draw him in there. I like to be able to see the other set up, but it isn't necessary.

Good Luck up

He laid by a tank for a week last year around when it was so cold, later I got picture of him

Not a good picture but it's the only one I have of his scar on my phone, you can barley see it

I like this idea. Thanks!
I'm limited to where I can set up due to the spot I'm hunting is an open hay meadow that is bordered by woods and right at the tree line is a deep creek bed. I park about 200 yards from the blind in a stack of round bales, although my truck is completely hidden, it may be as simple as he can smell my truck.

Just my opinion, but deer ( and especially bucks) learn and react to the sounds of humans. They will learn the non- threatening sounds of human activity around houses and other places that humans frequent and bed near them for safety from predators. And likewise, they learn the infrequent sounds of hunters moving into their core areas and move quickly to their safe zones. It could be nothing more than faint sounds of a vehicle, or the more obvious sound of an ATV that will send them to cover.

I've known guys who would routinely walk a half-mile or more just to avoid creating unnecessary sounds that could alarm deer.

Of course there will always be the ones who say they often see deer after riding their ATV to the steps of their stand. But if you ask me, they're only looking for agreement from others who don't care or see the need for such inconvenience.

"The more you walk, the more you see."

I know a guy who rides an atv to his deer stand because he is over weight and doesn't like walking. He historicaly sees the least. When I got off the lease he took over my stand and all of a sudden the deer sightings dropped off and the stand he used to sit is seeing much more deer and had a nice buck shot out of it last year and has a monster for the area on cam this year.

On our place in south texas I can watch trucks drive down the gravel county road, I can see them but for the most part cant hear them. However the guy who hunts across the fence rides an atv and I can clearly hear it when he is driving.
