Long story short I've been trying to hit a dove mid flight on wing with my compound bow with a 4" wire noose in a fluflu arrow. I've hit 2 in the past flushed out of trees. But I wanted a flying one and I got it this evening 20 yard overhead shot. Bird Exploded on impact. It was a great day huntin. I shot a 8pnt this morning with my bow and an archery dove this evening. What a rush. Now I won't be filling my bag limit with my bow just yet. But I got a good idea how much to lead my shot. And of coarse my gopro died 15 mins before I shot it. Lol

Interesting set up! Do the nooses tighten, or just hit the bird?

The noose just hits the bird. His bird was hit and went right thru the noose and arrow keeped going up.

I love my bow but I don't hunt deer or hogs. I primarily hunt birds. This is something that I need to look into. Kudos on a great shot.

Thanks again Shooting doves with an arrow is definatly the most challenging hunt I've attempted so far. I went out late this evening no birds flyin. I got 1 shot attempt I was to slow on my release. I will try again in the morning if I don't go deer hunting.
Anyone who owns a bow should give it a try u won't regret it.

Migratory birds may be harvested with shotguns archery and falconry.
I can't convince the wife just yet to get a falcon. Lol
I figured il wait till I'm old and gray and can't hear her bitchin. Lol

How many arrows have you lost?

I've lost 1 arrow in the top of a tall oak when high winds let it fly twice as far.
It's only effective to 30 yards or so. Starts losing power quickly at 40 yards at starts to fall when u shoot strait horizontal.
When I shoot 30-45 deg. It goes 100 yards max I try to only shoot when I have a clear landing background. Each arrow combo is about $30 I always watch were they land. Lol

That's pretty cool. I wonder if it will work with a crossbow. The dang steel plate in my shoulder limits my range of motion these days.
