Every one needs to complain To State about the Gas Budget imposed on Game Wardens. They couldn'nt even come over to investigate a poached deer on a tract of land I manage, No money for fuel.

I would go and fill up his truck if he would come out and get results.

That's been going on for several years, at least 10.
Trust me, I know a few. Deer season eats up a lot of their budget.
I know bow season has just started but maybe their budget year probably starts and stops Oct 1 like a lot of government entities.

I find that very hard to believe. Otherwise, what is the point of their job?
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

I talked to a mechanic for TPWD he said they have $600 monthly budget to work with boat and truck. I use that much driving a hour to work each way in a month.

I find this hard to believe. Not saying it isn't true, but I don't think law enforcement officials in any capacity that use vehicles to conduct their operations have a set fuel budget. I assume they have to account for the fuel as I have seen them keep records, but I don't think "I'm out of gas money" is a valid excuse for any law enforcement official, much less a GW to fail to respond to a legitimate call.
How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

I have confirmed this with 3 that I know personally, they get $350 a month period.
Quick math here
350 dollars 3.09 per gallon 113.2686084 gallons 15 miles per gallon 1699.029126 Mile total IF the worn out trucks get 15, more like 10 1700 miles Most Texas counties are 40 x 40 in general, so one trip each county line is 160 miles That's 10 times a month they can get to each line…hope you aren't drowning or seeing a poacher or whatever else they do, (stranded, patrol deer camps) near the end of the month...

And some work multiple counties, and if they have to travel that comes from the same budget, for training or qualifications, or whatever.
This whole thing is a joke, or at least I wish it was a joke.

$350/month isn't much when most your job consist of being in your truck. I pretty much stay in the DFW area during a work week and that wouldn't cut it at all. So what do they do when they run out, just stay home?

Heck I spend more than that driving to and from hunting sites.... part time.
It's SRS. Straight running stupid.

If what you say is true, and I'm certainly not calling you a liar, then this is complete and total BS. $350/month will only fill their boat up 2-3 times a month. No truck. I wonder if this differs by county or if Wardens w/boats get a bigger allowance. Even if the Warden has truck only, that budget for gas IS a joke. I spend about that just to drive to and from work each month (40 min a day round trip @ 13-14 MPG).

I have no clue about the boats, sure boat gas is a different budget code, but don't know about the ones that pull boats to different places, that's bad on gas too.
In south and southwest texas numerous wardens have 1.5 to 3 counties by themselves, and covering for others near them on days off or holidays or training, may be driving across two or three counties.
