A few years back wife and I went to New Zealand for our 30th anniversary. I hunted Red Stag and a Himalayan Tahr. The Stag scored 551 and was third in the world in SCI at that time.

The Tahr hunt was crazy - helicopter dropped me and my guide off in mountains. After stalking and taking him, helicopter came in to get us and the animal out. Two of the pictures are of our guide hanging from the helicopter as we lifted the tahr up and out. We were literally thousands of feet in the air and this guy is riding the cable while we are in the helicopter. Pretty memorable stuff. NZ is off the charts and the trip of a lifetime.

Note: First shot was in shoulder - second shot and one seen in the picture was second shot as he tried to run

Unbelievable red stag. Congratulations!!!! Who did you hunt with? I went with Glenroy Lodge in 1999 and had an amazing time. New Zealand is probably the only country I would consider moving to. The South Island is just amazing. I love the mountains there!!!

Very Nice. Definitely on my list.
