We are in our first yr in the tri county area. Rain is definitely going to help. Deer are starting to look good. How are your deer in the area looking? Any current pics?

This is a couple of our best so far this yr. We have several older trash deer that need to be shot this yr and we will prob give these better bucks a pass even tho they are prob old enough.

Ours are looking much better this over the last few. We got good rains when we needed it.

Yep we got some good rain but need a lot more. Our really only hurdle is lack of water. We have a lot of dirt tanks but most are dry now. We have limited stock tanks. We have good cover and limited hunting pressure. We will manage it pretty tight and like I said we will probably let the top couple bucks walk this yr and concentrate on cull bucks. Our last property started out similar and in just 4 yrs we had a solid herd which included 4-5 in the upper 130-140. When we started we prob only had 2 above 120" and during those 4 yrs we had a record drought. Really looking forward to seeing what we can do in an area that isn't known for deer over 130.

Anybody else out that way have any pics or input on how your deer are looking?

Hope to have some new pics this weekend. I hunt in SW Taylor and the deer are looking better than last year. This is my second year on this place. I'll post some pics this weekend.

I'm hoping to get out to our place in southern Nolan Cnty in the next few weeks.

Would love to see what you have. I'll be back out opening weekend of next weekend. I'm hoping to see some new faces as they usually start moving to fall grounds after they shed.

What part of Mitchell? Any pics? Trying to see what others near us have compared to what we are seeing. Plus I just love seeing deer pics from the area.

Not sure why. Nobody is asking for GPS coordinates. Just friendly neighbor comparisons is all I'm looking for. We are new to this area and just trying to see what expectations are in the area. Plus I just love seeing deer pics and feedback from the area I hunt.
