I took this boar with the Six8 razorback he was alone and working his way along a fence line rooting as he went. He was slightly angled towards me but facing away with a small tree covering part of his neck and head. While waiting for him to turn broadside the idea of shooting through the small tree just to see what the 6.8 120 grain SST would do. So I took aim on the tree and shot. The boar went down DRT, I really thought he was a little larger but was still a respectable 220 pounds. And here is the video!

Pretty cool. Did the bullet go thru the branch or just graze it?

I am actually amazed at how easily a 308/7.62 Nato round will blast through large diameter trees.
Like Butter!!!!!! Nice shot by the way!!

I get about equivalent velocities from my 120gr 16" 6.8 hand loads as I do 168gr from my 20" 308win rock river. Granted I am not shooting quite max loads in the 308 but still shows plenty potency in the 6.8 . I am really taking a liking to the round.
You need to call it...I can't call it for you.

Nice video. Learned something for sure. Won't be so hesitant to pull the trigger hog hunting in brush with my 6.8 now.

Nice work TLM! Im just thankful your not using a .223 FMJ! The round would probably just roll down the barrel and fall at your feet! *ducking* OH COME ON...I WAS KIDDING! Take care!
There's nothing better than killin it and grillin it!

Using google earth a little over 70 yards for the hog, 222 yards for the coyotes.

I shoot a 6.8 SPC II. My hunting partner shoots a 308. I have not seen any major differences in performance and after carrying them a few hours, I am a firm believer that the 6.8 is the way to go.
My family and I would like to thank every soldier (active or inactive) for their service to this Great Country! Thank You,

Pretty cool. Did the bullet go thru the branch or just graze it? Through the center. Not to be an [censored] but why don't you show a pic of the hole thru the limb instead of the side shot since you took the trouble to take a pic .

That is the exit not a side shot, on the other side there is just a tiny hole. I should have taken a better pic.
