Went out to Grapevine lake off of 114 and 377 today in the hopes of seeing a few doves by the powerlines and creeks. Didnt see anything but about 16 million grasshopper and a spider that I almost mistaked for a deer. No [censored] it was the biggest spider I have ever seen. I didnt see one single bird of any type, but Im interested to go exploring on that place now. Seems pretty good if you are in shape. There are some deep river banks you have to climb. Anyone have any Lake Grapevine dove spots they want to share with a new to the area hunter?

Plenty of flat river banks with small pebbles, plenty of power lines, plenty of roost space. Not sure whats missing.

Too freakin hot. Shoot the spider and call it a day. Mount it above the fireplace.

I've never seen many dove out there. My guess is you'd have better luck with dove up at the grasslands.
