I've only killed 5 birds so far this year, a total of 8 shots fired and I don't want to admit how many days I've been sitting in the field counting grasshoppers. Sad thing is that all 5 five birds were taken on opening day. Has anyone else's season been like this? Is anyone running low on shells? I have 3 cases of shells and a gun that needs to be shot.

Sounds like my season so far. Opening day, I got 7 by 8:30am. I got 1 Friday evening and 0 Saturday morning.

Not much to write home about

I've probably shot 75 shots with no birds...I've seen a ton of birds, and if I could shoot, it would be awesome! lol

I've only hunted twice and killed two limits of birds. Plenty around until this rain hit this weekend, but they started showing back up yesterday afternoon.

Opening day was awesome, after that its been pretty slow

Opening day was great for me, limited out in about 1 hour. Would have been faster if I could hit the broad side of a barn. Went hunting this past Saturday, morning was slow, only shot 5. Then it started raining and I saw birds flying, drove out to the lease and birds were all over the place for some reason. Killed 10 more to hit my limit on the day.

I have been hearing from a lot of people though that birds are not moving well.

Not moving well in comal county either. Saw a bunch out of range last evening. But this morning sloooow. They never flew much just singles and double birds every once and awhile.
I finnaly shot some mature mornings that just showed up but only 4 this morning. Big front this week coming should stir il some movement mid to late week

You need to get out and shoot some clays

Same here in the greater Houston area... All the brids I have seen are in areas that can't be hunted. I am glad I did not pay for a lease this year, because they are doing just as well as public areas. I have 18 birds so far this year and 12 were opening day...

I even drove 3 hours up to Ft. Worth area where the sunflower fields were cut down, and still nothing flying.

maybe the cold front this week from the north will push them down.

So what you're saying is that if I supply the shells and give you some killer tips and training you'll come pick me up?

My dad says he's been slaughtering them up in Illinois every afternoon. Hopefully this cold front pushes them our way.

We were pretty much covered this past weekend. Limits weren't hard to come by. Hope it turns around for you

Opening day - 3 early and then none in Frisco - this weekend two days in Graham - fired three times - not very good turnout for birds

Lots of birds in Shackelford county.

The fellas that are baiting get all the birds... I can hear people tearin up birds not a few miles from me... I see a few here and there... id bet good money that's whats going on

Been hit and miss in Sanger. Some good days some bad, but its all been good times.

yeah 2 trips seen 5 birds total only,no breast yet ...meh...such is life on TPWD. What else can one do..either up the $$$$ and that's no guarantee, or sit at the house!!!
