Looking at getting a really good vacuum sealer this year. Anyone have an opinion on which is the best for the money?

I haven't bought one yet. But I been doing lots of reading and research. I really have been leaning towards the LEM ones. Seem well built and high quality. I have other LEM items and they stand up nice.

I've used the Cabelas CG-15 for over 5 years now
probably vacuumed over 2000 lbs of tuna/fish/deer/hog...
it's still running .... good vac, seals tight, parts available for repair
consider service and parts when buying

for $500 it is good and worth the asking price

I have had good luck with my FoodSaver, it just isn't heavy duty enough for us. It heats up and shuts off for a while when I am doing a whole deer or load of fish, it can be a pain, especially when there are 2-3 deer to do. I actually duct taped the vacuum cleaner to it for air flow so it wouldn't shut down during a packing marathon last winter.
FoodSaver has great customer service, but I am looking for something more commercial.
I am checking out the CG-5 and Weston

The cabelas CG15 is outstanding. Have had for about 4 seasons going into the 5th and process lots of hogs and deer. Bunches of fish. Wife uses it for lots of regular kitchen stuff. Runs and runs. Seals tight. I do use the cabelas bags, they seem to work better than the food saver or cheaper ones. Cost is not that much more. My .02 cents. Been worth every penny to me

I have had the one that I bought at Walmart for about 5 years now! I use it for everything including marinating dinner! I love it! I believe its food saver brand
