Hello I was looking into getting one of these but I was needing some help with deciding between a 26in or a 28in barrel. Mainly gonna be used for dove and duck. Basically an all around gun. Thanks

Get a Beretta Outlander instead in sythetic. They can be had for around 600 bucks if you do some research. Use the extra money for shells and clays.
Anyway, I like 28" for duck and dove. Some people like shorter, I always over swing with a short barrel.

There is nothing wrong with a VersaMax. I would probably go 26", just to save weight and be easier to handle in the field for dove.

This is the gun I want just don't know if there is a performance difference between a 26 or 28in barrel

Performance as in fps? No, they are almost identical, only difference is subjective. Go to Cabelas or where ever, ask to see the same shotgun in both 26" and 28", shoulder them and swing them around, see which one you like better.

So basically feel and swing weight? More of a swing balance preference than swing weight. 2" does not do much if at all with the weight, it just changes the balance of the rifle.

I prefer the longer barrel on a bird gun. Much easier for me to hit doves/ducks with the longer barrel. For rabbits and squirrels, I much prefer the short barrel.
