Thinking about getting a Polaris Ranger.
In your opinion, is there a better brand than Polaris in regards to durability and warranty. My dad just got the Kubota diesel, and its nice, but definitely not my style.

I have a ranger and love it but years ago the warranty was only 6 months which is not very good IMHO. That said if I was in the market today it would be on top of my list. I use mine daily and haul quite a bit both at home and at the lease. I have crawled hills and used it in every way possible, but I DO NOT take it stump jumping. I will say if it was me I would stay away from the 800, but go with the full size unit. Hope that helps.

Why stay away from the 800? I looked at the last 2014 800 they had today and it was a hell of a lot less than the 2015 model.
Also, they are doing away with the 800 and replacing it with a full size 570.
You can get a 5 year warranty for about $1K.

I agree the 800 is no longer, of a dealer still had any they are pushing you to buy them. They are not in the 2015s anymore After looking extensively the rangers own the market hands down. Look at the stock, resale values etc....I don't see any reason to mess with any other brand unless you are really into riding and racing etc

My Yamaha has served me well for 5 years and has only been in the shop twice for standard maintenance. If a dealer wanted to sell me a warranty for $1K I would be seriously worried about the quality of that product.

It's the #1 selling UTV in the market....why they warranty Something that most people lift 4", attach sound systems to and drive through lakes?
They all are good if you take care of them

I have heard on the PRC Forum that there have been heat issues under the seat. They may have fixed it, but at a minimum ask some questions. That is about the only negative thing I have heard of them.

Yes the 800 single cab had major issues with this All the 2015 models the motor is under the bed in back now

I'm considering a 2014 Ranger 400 because dealers are closing them out for about $8k+ttl. Wondering if that thing is going to be too underpowered though...just need a lease buggy really.

The best UTV depends on what you are going to use it for.

Ranger all the way.......on my second one now 2014 900 crew had the 800XP 2010 before never had a issue with any one. There the most popular for a reason and any accessory you want is available. I use mine daily and I have three kids that are constantly on it so I can't see why someone would have theirs in the shop 2 to 3 times a year. My 800 was ran into a pipe fence by one of my kids, swiped the side of oak tree by my daughter, used to pull a tufline UTV plow multiple times for food plots, pulled logs for firewood, like I said they get used and never had a issue. The choice is yours, its your money.

It's a no brainer. The new 2014 Yamaha Viking 700 is the way to go. It runs 50 MPH with 3 people, and goes just about anywere you want. I had a Yamaha Rhino for years, and loved it ( Never a problem). The New Viking 700 is a big step above Check the website for Yamaha and look for comparsions you will not be sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I traded my Ranger in 2012 for a new Can Am Commander. Best decision I made as far as a UTV!
