Thinking of adjusting my trigger on my Tikka T3 down to 2 lbs. Is that still safe, god forbid I drop it?

Both of my T3 are adjusted to the lowest pull. After several hundred if not thousand rounds I am pleased to say they have never gave any problems. When considering trigger pull adjustment you should be able to feel safe with triggers advertised to be adjustable by the user. As tikka/sako rifles are.

Drop it, bang the gun around. See if it's safe still

Thanks for the info. I have never dropped mine either and hardly ever carry it with one in the chamber. Just wanted to make sure I appreciate it

For a hunting rifle – 3lbs is a light as I go.

I adjust the trigger and slam the but down on the floor repeatedly. That's my test. Now if it drops out of a tree who knows. But I refuse to simulate that.

BTW the older savage trigger is very adjustable and very dangerous if not done by a reputable person or with much trial and error. And then seal the heck out of all screw so they don't move. Because they will.

2 lbs is as light as I will go on a hunting rifle. Tikka's have good triggers to be adjusted to a good weight.

Two lbs can still be safe if it is done right. I have a huber two stage and it is 2.5 lbs over. But the second stage is very light. Like was said above test it to make sure run the bolt hard as you can to make sure it doesn't fire as well.

I'm guessing with all the bad publicity other companies got with triggers they have a good system. Mine is set as low as possible in my tikka.

I don't know about Tikka, but my 700 won't safely go below 2.5 lbs. That's plenty low for me for a hunting rig. And low enough to surprise ya and I like it.

One day I'll switch over to the Tikka's. Just too dang good a value now. I can't wait till we start seeing Tikka Varmint rigs all over the place

Go ahead and do it. Test it as others have suggested, but I have faith it will be just fine. Tikkas have very good triggers.

I got a 2lb Rifle Basix in my 700, but according to the trigger scale its closer to 1.5lbs, but i like it and have never had an issue in 11 years.
