Can any one tell me the history and manufacturer of this Rifel? my Father in law has one he wants to restore and I would like to know a little about the gun. thaks for any comments or help.

Ranger is the department store name. The 22 was made by Stevens for them.

thanks thats a start. I will follow the Stevens trail. the reason I'm asking it looks like I will need to fabricate a new forarm for it if I cant get one ordered from some where. it's craked. I have no Idea how old this gun is but it looks very old.

Sorry I told you it was a stevens. but I forgot to tell you the model number. It's a Stevens model 66
