I'm bringing home a new lab pup in a few weeks and wondering if it's a bad idea to crate her with my V until she's a little older. Thinking she might be calmer with him in there with her. Would this create problems?

I've always just had the crates next to each other.
I've had pups go in and nap on their own with the older dogs.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Having had a bad experience with a pup and an older dog, I suggest a separate crate.

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE
