Better reliability and maybe better data? IDK Of course newer isnt always better. Just seems if you put a 10lb anvil on a wild deer, he may possibly not keep up his normal routine, especially if hangs on every bush when he moves? Not likely, but a possibility. And I think you discovered the real reason, Trex could move right in with room to spare!

I seen a pronghorn buck about a month ago in the Dalhart area with a collar very similar to that one...it didn't appear to be quite that large yet very noticeable

Evidently WT can jump 8' high fences..... even with bling Is it a yoke to keep him from jumping fences?
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

So they need our help tracking the deer? Maybe they should have bought the new collars. By the date on the article, July 24, 2012, that deer may have been hauling that block around his neck for two years now, and the batteries were only good for 1 1/2 years. He might appreciate a call from the OP, as the batteries are probably dead. According to the article the collared deer were 3 1/2+ (I am going with 3 or 4 since the article was in July) that would make him 5 - 6 years now, yup?
