I recently picked up a classic S&W Nickel 29-2 Pinned&Recessed with the wooden presentation box, tool kit, and paperwork. The gun was in near mint condition but the case was bear bones. It had the plastic insert and foam without any fabric. I decided to first test my skills on a plastic plate before attempting the box. I was more than pleased with the result. The hardest part was being the only guy in Joann's fabric and waiting 30 minutes for them to cut the fabric. It isn't perfect but i was more than pleased with my first attempt. Here is before and after pictures including the plate lol!

Looking at the pictures, I was afraid you were going to use the plates for something. Turned out very nice.

Thanks. I needed a little practice under my belt so I started with the plate. I wanted to make sure it turned out okay before attempting the inserts.

Hey Ruger, nice job. And BTW I thought I recognized that box from another posting... Turns out that you and I have the same hometown and are acquainted. I was two years behind your Dad in school and I ended up working at the bank there in Big L. Notice the first part of my user name and you'll figure it out quite easily! Tell your big bro and mom I said hello.

So she says "sure Honey, I agree, you DO need a new deer rifle..." And that, boys, is how I ended up with new living room furniture!
