same as above. I shoot a 20ga so I buy 3" but use #6's. I have used a full choke in high wind since the birds seem to get up further out.

I use Remington Express Magnums almost exclusively on pheasant - 7.5# on first shot and 6# on 2nd shot. If I am on pen-raised birds, I'll go up to a 9# on first shot and 7.5# on 2nd shot. This is with a 12. With a 20 ga I'll bump these up a notch.

Them SD birds must be harder to kill. I use 4's and 5's on em.

I have been pheasant hunting for about 7 years. Up until this past season I always used #5 copper plated lead through modified in a 12ga. I missed or wounded a lot of birds. This past season there were no birds, but I changed to a 20ga and #6 copper plated lead or tungsten out of an improved cylinder choke. I only shot at 8 or 9 pheasant all season, but all except one went down with the first shot. The other took a followup shot. I did not loose a single bird this past season.

Gotta get me some of that tungsten you were shooting last year, did you get it online?
