I'd go with the Springfield. Newer Kimbers I have handled didn't impress me as far as slide to frame fit and trigger pull. Para is owned by Cerberus and they seem to turn everything they touch to crap.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Lots of guys knock the kimbers, but had a tactical pro II that shot lights out. Currently have a CDP pro II that is far more accurate than I am.

Out of those three I would go with the TRP. I have a kimber and it is junk compared to my Springfield or any other 1911 I have shot or owned. But for the money I would buy a Dan Wesson Valor or specialist if you want a rail. I have the specialist and it blows my kimber or Springfield out of the water and it is not that much more money.

Freedom Group owns Para-USA http://www.freedom-group.com/TRP from your list STI from Texas would be on my short list Nighthawk T-3 if I had more $$$$$. Still thinking a 1911 in 9mm would be real nice too..

TRP if those three without a second thought.
I might consider an STI Trojan if my money was on the line.

Sounds like most are a fan of the TRP. I honestly had no doubt that would be the case I have only shot Kimbers, so not familiar with the different triggers. In all honesty, it's between the TRP and Para, but I've never fired or even handled either if you want to fire mine. MSG me. I love my full rail trp

TRP!!!I have the TRP operator and it is awesome. I also had the TRP, but thinned the 1911s a bit and sold it. I have had a few paras, currently have a cco lda that is the most accurate 3.5 inch 1911 I have ever had. I have said this before about kimbers, I have never owned one, but I see them for sale more than any other. Just an observation.

I've got a Colt commander and a S & W 1911sc. Both have been flawless. I carry the colt most of the time as my EDC.

The TRP is hands above any other Springfield. (Have you read the FBI test on the TRP?) I'd rather own a lesser Springfield than any Para or most Kimbers. Kimbers are hit and miss, and I do not like Para's. Now find a nice Colt to compare that TRP to before making your final decision.

If I get a 1911, it will probably be a sig. They are good guns, but i recommend getting a good belt as they are heavy as hell!

It's not that it was a bad gun or had accuracy or function errors, just don't like the look of it. Also they are more boxy than traditional 1911's, so don't fit in normal holsters
