Checked my cameras yesterday, found a pic of a man and a woman walking thru my property. As far as I can tell nothing was touched or messed with. They had to see the camera, I mean it's attached to a Tpost. Only got 1 pic of them and that was over a 2 month period. Should I contact my game warden or see if it happens again?

Did they look up to no good, other than trespassing? Likely an adjoining property owner/tenant. Personally I would like to know ho it was, just to see if it was a neighbor , so I could ask them directly why they where there.

Could have been looking for lost livestock and couldn't /didn't have time to find out who owned the land?

Are you the LO?

Personally I would probably contact the SO or GW and see what they think, may be well known honest people,or......

The land is owned by my dads best friend. We are the only 2 people who should be there. He was with me checking pics and filling feeders yesterday. The man and woman were just walking by a feeder in the pic. It looks as if they weren't paying any attention to the feeder or the camera which is 10 feet away. I know its not a neighbor, I have met all of them numerous times.

They got access from somewhere, could be family of neighbors, or they could also be trespassing on the neighbors as well.

May want to show the photo to the neighbors then as well.

It will take the LO to file a complaint, or start an investigation more than likely.

Thanks Western. I think that is exactly what we are going to do. Hope this is not a problem that continues. Just amazes me that people have that little respect and are that brave, or stupid. Lol

Oh, they are that brave and stupid. Allot of guys here have the same problem, but some get ripped off.

Nothing may be missing now, but you never know if someone will come back after scoping a place out.

They were probably just looking for their dogs. Everyone knows that's is perfectly legal and okay since no dog can be controlled by their owner.

Always best to stay in good graces with adjoining land owners. I would exhaust all means of contacting/finding them myself before getting any official involved. Could have been a very understandable reason.

Pittstate. Assuming the land was fenced (virtually all land here is), exactly what in your mind would constitute a "perfectly understandable" reason to cross a fence and trespass without at least making an effort to contact the LO?

"perfectly understandable" - As in neighbor down the road crossing my fence to tack his card to my barn on which his note asked if I needed assistance clearing a fence line. the rancher would of shot him, based on prior posts. I simply called my neighbor and asked what he had in mind... perfectly understandable.

Yeah. Pretty bold and ignorant accusation there sir. Show me where I said I'd "shoot a neighbor" please.

Also, my neighbors have my number. We call each other before we cross fences. That's what neighbors do.

You have said in previous threads that you would shoot a trespasser, and if I remember correctly, you were pretty adamant about it. If you got a new neighbor, I don't see how it is a "bold and ignorant" statement to assume you would shoot a neighbor you didn't know, even if he had a "perfectly understandable" reason to come by, at least based on your comments in some other threads confused2

I could list over 50 good reasons without hesitation. I will give you an example. A few years back, I found someone walking through our land in Kansas. I approached them and introduced myself. They were a family member of an adjacent land owner and thought they were on the right land. It was no big deal. We talked and walked together and I let him know who owned what. Later that day, we went by and talked to all the land owners in the area and got him permission for all land around his uncles. All he has to do is drop by and let us know when you wants to hunt and if none of us are hunting, he is more than welcome. That is just how it works in small town America where I came from.

Never ever said or implied I'd shoot a neighbor. But don't let facts get in your way. wink

There are perfectly understandable reasons why trespassing may occur, especially if the property is NOT posted. No, it may not be any neighbors you know. Just like you aren't the landowner, the people in the pic may be guests of a neighbor. They brought their dog and the dog got away and they are out after it.

Disrespectful? No. They probably figured no harm no foul. Who are they going to ask for permission and why would they really need to when they were just getting their dog? They aren't hunting, chasing game, or causing problems.

That is just one possibility and one I have actually seen occur.
