Not asking for specific locations (seen some of the replies in the waterfowl section) but I have few questions about Mule deer in Texas. Is there a good population of them and what part of Texas do they tend to be in?

Yes. West Texas has them.

Nice pictures!! I was reading on Tpwfd website that there is no public hunting landing available for mule deer. So much for the idea of spending a weekend of spot and stalking. I'm already on a lease northeast of Abilene and don't really want to pay a guide to hunt. Guess I'll think of another plan.

Lake Meridith in the Panhandle has walk in hunting for mule deer, but I hear it gets very crowded.

Pecos County 6x7 I've set my goal for this year now
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.
