Additional paint acts as rust control..same thing with painted blinds tending to last longer. Also camo in hope that crows & raccoons don't see it. Some need to be painted if the sun hits them right and creates a glare, some deer don't like that and will blow at it...they'll do the same to the glare off a truck windshield.

I've painted mine with fluorescent orange so I could see it better in low light and fog....but I paint mine to protect it.

I have all mine powdercoated a light tan color to help with rust control, it also lets the other people on the lease know those are my feeder.

Some do it so that they or the neighbors or poachers or other hunters can't see their feeder. Perzactly

If a camo outfit is good enough for the camp cook it is good enough for the deer feeder!

Some people don't rest easy knowing they have an item in their life that isn't camo.
Others may do it to keep from advertising a free feeder from the road. Yep! To keep the neighbors from noticing it as easy.
OMG, this is the best slumber party ever!

I agree with painting it a bright color so it can be seen when dark! I've got a white one.

Possibly make it harder for people to spot and steal. This^^^ until a lease member put a shiny lid on it that was seen from google earth because as mentioned din another thread, my place has no fences.

And once a year, we usually re-paint our small hanging feeders. She's "all girl" so gold is the perfect color.

So others can't see it to steal it?
The Federal Government cannot give anything to anyone, that it has not first taken from someone else.

Dunno, but I suppose it's not any sillier than sitting in a box stand in full camo. I'm gonna paint "No Hunting Zone" on our feeders so the deer will feel safe.

All of mine that are painted started out as a solid and just get paint added to cover rust.

Possibly make it harder for people to spot and steal. This and I camo'd mine also to keep the guy on the other side of the fence from seeing it so I can hunt the fence line
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.
