To watch the babies grow up. These are my kiddos that are becoming fine young men hopefully. Might be tough to shoot them in 3 to 4 years if they are still around after watching them grow. They both have been at my feeders since they were fawns with spots as well as their sisters. Love watching them and seeing progress.

Getting back to reality... once in college I was trying to describe why/how I like to hunt and a guy gave the old 'it's not fair because you have a gun and the deer don't' bs line (yes he was a Yankee (liberal) whose family had moved down here a couple years before).
Before I could say anything another guy in the group retorted with 'If you gave a buck a gun during the rut he would use it to kill other bucks, not hunters.'
Probably one of the greatest lines I've ever heard to explain deer behavior.

Not happening this year. Gonna watch him if he doesn't get shot by my neighbor that shoots anything that walks since he is a spike.

That's true. We have a couple of doe that I've named 'Dixie and Trixie'. I pity the poor fool that shoots one of my pets.

At our house, we have a "no chuttin zone", it is the yard area, since the place is small. Wife feeds the deer everyday and pretty much knows them all, sooo.
