Just wanted to start this thread to get a few pics and video of hill country deer going this summer. Having trouble aging this 10 pt from last year. Never saw him while sitting. I left the lease on 12-9-13 and he was there for the next 6 weeks. I have him at 3 1/2 in 2013. Hill country deer just give me a hard time with their long slender frames. Never seem to put on body mass or exceptional mass on the antlers. Started feeding protein again this year so I hope this guy will benefit. Let me know what you guys think.

Here are a few other young bucks from this past season. Just how young do you think these bucks are. I think the narrow 8 and 9 are both 2 1/2. The 7 was shot at Thanksgiving and was 19 5/8 wide and had no teeth

Narrow nine, any thoughts on his age, I know he is young just trying to convince other lease members on just how young they are.

Watched this guy all year, not sure if he will amount to much

This is the same wide 7 making a scrape, hard to see.

Nice bucks. I agree on the 3.5 yr old age. Would not be surprised if he makes a huge jump this year.

3.5, looks like a fun place to hunt

JMalin, you have a pretty good eye. About 15 miles out of town on the Willow City Loop. Can't beat the scenery... God knew what he was doing when he put that slice of heaven on earth.

As far as age goes, my first impression was a rutted down 4.5 year old. There are some great genetics out that way. A legitimate Booner was killed in the willow city area a few years ago. Buck made the cover of Texas trophy hunters.

I agree with the 3.5 year old and I would try to let him get 4-5 to see if he grows a little but he will be in my aim this year if I was you
