OP epolanco Woodsman E Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 167 south texas, RGV	Hey guys, this is my first year putting in for public hunt drawings in Texas. My question is what other states do you guys recommend to buy some entries in? Don't really have a specific target species in mind, just looking to hunt in different areas. dawaba Extreme Tracker D Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,200 Big Eddy Road, Noonday	Every year, I put in for hunts in these states: Arizona (the deadline is today, June 10) New Mexico Colorado Utah Nevada Wyoming Montana Idaho In the past and occasionally, I've applied here: California Oregon Alaska Kansas Iowa On average, I make around 30 applications per year. stxranchman Obie Juan Kenobi S Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 60,296 Gillespie County	Kansas- Mule Deer Arizona- Mule Deer New Mexico- Gemsbok and Ibex I had drawn a Mule Deer permit in 2012 and 2013 in Kansas. Got a Whitetail permit only this year in Kansas. You have to enter the WT drawing and get drawn then have entered the Mule Deer and get drawn for it to get a permit. If you draw a Mule Deer permit it is then either species for your choice of one animal only. I am going to look into other drawings for next year like Iowa and Idaho. Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

But I usually apply for the best units in each state for each species. Still have some of the raffle hunts to go but those odds are thousands to one.
