3rd year of having pics of this buck, not real sure what to expect from him this year, but I bet he's tempting...

There's your proof that a long horned spike isn't always a spike.

It will be interesting to see if he can get some height on his tines this year.

If not, what will that prove by not making him supper for stxranchman?

A long horn spike will always be a long horn spike...when he turns into an 8-10pt he will then be an 8-10pt.

That's pretty interesting. How do you know that is the same buck though confused2

From 2012 to the 2013 picture that is very significant antler growth, did you feed protein in 2013 and not this year? I would think if it is the same buck, this years picture would have had better defined antler growth as a natural progression over the last year. The game cam pictures I got last week, the buck's that are average looking 3 year's old, their tines were a lot more defined. Small acreage, low fenced and no protein.

Any hoot, nice pictures up

Its the same buck.

Sorry man I'm on the what does it prove side. If he tops out at a 130" 6 yr old, with we what you have proven is there, then he shoulda been supper.

look at his ear STUB, when he showed up as a spike i kept that pic of him so i could keep track of him and see what he would do. i did feed protein last summer, this year its only been buck ration and sweet feed, but i dont think that would have caused this much of a difference. this is 45 acres, LF.

i really wasnt trying to prove anything, just thought his antlers so far this year were really unique. obviously there is no way to tell what he will turn into, yet, but i was pretty impressed with him last year as a 2yo.

and other than one old buck on my place, i only have a few others that are showing much past the g2's at this point.

P.S. find him late season, find big.

he was around a bit during the season, did a lot of running with a very similar looking buck, probably a year older, that had a nice kicker off a g2, hoping he shows back up too. its still early in the season and tough to tell them all apart.

once again pretty much every buck on this place has a free pass for at least another year, from me anyway
