Looks like a hognose to me. He should have gotten a pass. Supposedly, they will occasionally eat rattlesnakes. My enemy's enemy is my friend.

While out sighting in some guns this weekend we ran into 2 snakes. 1 was some type of non venomous water snake we let go and the other was about a 4 foot and thick cotton mouth that was not so lucky. He got beat with a big stick until his ole head was flattened.

Harmless Hognose. Good thing you killed it becouse it would have.......done nothing.

I love how the Hognose play dead. They flip over. The best part is, when they are "playing dead," you can flip them over and they will go right back.... (not exactly a great way to play dead)
