Going to the range tomorrow to sight in the rifle. Then it will be done and ready once I assemble the swivels on the sling and put it together.

OK, so took it out and was really disappointed. The damn thing failed to fire half the time and was a real pain to run... Got home, took it apart, looked at everything, checked firing pin, checked hammer spring and was still a pain... Finally, decided to change charging handle spring to the silver one and fired 10 rounds like a dream... Now back to the range. Korean, the Burris scope is really nice, very clear!
It's almost ready to go!

Do you think that charging handle is just too heavy?

No, it came with 3 springs, just had to get the right one on. I think the one that came installed was too weak and not closing the bolt all the way thus no marks from firing pin on the unfired bullet.

55 rounds fired today. Only one hang up, otherwise it's running great! It's now sighted in and almost ready. Have to take it apart and clean it, then plan a trip to WF for delivery.

Just heard Christian has been transferred back to Baylor from Wichita Falls again. Apparently he was having some bad pains and dehydration. Hew may undergo surgery tomorrow. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
I will be going to Dallas this weekend and delivering the rifle to him instead of going to WF.

Just found out he is out of surgery. Had to have a colon resection and part of his abdominal wall removed. He is now in recovery and we are hoping this brings much needed improvement to his health.

She is ready, clean and ready for delivery tomorrow! Christian seems to be doing ok after the surgery and looks like he is slowly recovering. I will see him tomorrow at the hospital. Again, thanks to all that helped with the project. You sure made it a lot easier to get it done and extra special!!! I will make absolutely certain everyone gets a mention. I put together a little booklet outlining the build and credit has been given to all who contributed. Overall, the cost ended up being about $800. So this is one fine rifle. I will add a very hard to get 500 rounds of ammo to go along... [img:left] [/img] [/img] [img:left] [/img] [img:left] [/img]

That looks awesome!!
Is he able to leave the hospital for a bit so you can give it to him? I don't know if you can take a rifle into a hospital? I KNOW you can't carry a concealed weapon inside, but idk about taking a rifle in the doors.

Gave the build book to Christian Saturday. Man, was he excited. He couldn't wait to get home. He had the surgery and what was supposed to be done laproscopically ended up requiring a 6" incision. They had to remove part of his abdominal wall since the tumor had gown into it and caused some scar tissue. When I saw him Saturday he was a totally new young man. He was in a lot of pain but was smiling and was a real joy to be around. He got discharged today and will be getting 2 more rounds of chemo.
There is a benefit for him in May in Wichita Falls so hopefully I'll get to drive up and we can shoot the day before.
Thanks again to everyone. Christian loved the rifle and really appreciated it!

Hope he heals fast and well. I have had abdominal surgery-fortunately not cancerous, so I have a feel for what he is going thru. If I can find some ammunition before you go back up, I will let you know.

Chrkstian is feeling much better. Apparently will be trying to hit the range tomorrow! Amazing what the surgery has done to him... he is eating now and gaining much needed weight...

Hey guys, I haven't updated this in a while. I actually went shooting with Christian on Easter weekend (yes I know that was a while back, haha). He is doing very well and responded great to the surgery and is now finished with chemo. Now he is on every 6 months Dr visits. Sop far so good. As for the rifle, that is one sweet tac driver!
Thanks again to all
Hector
