Bought a load of reloading / gunsmithing items from a guy and this item was in it. It is a brass tube with a magnified piece of glass inside the tube on the left end.

Is this an old bore scope maybe?

Thanks for the help!

What is the diameter of it? Does it appear to have any threads or something that may hold a cap on the opposite end of the lense? I've seen old bore lights that drop down the barrel that looked kind of like that. And Ive seen ones that go over the muzzle that brought light in. And it also resembles a rectifier tube out of an old vintage rife scope! I'd like to know what the heck it is also!

Man these are wild guesses...
-cap to a black powder ram rod?
-If it is hollow and has a square hole in the bottom could be a black powder measurer.

That's all I got for now.

How much magnification?

Is there any beveling on either end?

Seriously, just a hollow brass tube with a piece of magnified glass in it. Glass is where that line is on the outside of the tube.

No beveling in tube, nothing. Outside of tube measures .689 inch.

It may be a tool to view a rifle chamber. Though with that diameter it wouldn't fit many of the smaller calibers..
