Hey guy I finished another skull project this weekend so I thought I would share!
I have been busy with family stuff lately so I have haven't been able to get out to hunt any. So I took a little time and finished this project!

I had originally planned on doing a solid metal finish so I picked up some copper paint! While I was looking at the paint lid I thought, copper + coyote head = copperhead!

So I decided to do a copperhead snake pattern!
I had a nice scale pattern in the beginning but a few to many touch ups and the scales all but disappeared! confused2

It turned out okay but I learned a few lessons for the next one! up

Most of the time, the teeth fall out in the bleaching process. You just glue them back in.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Chupa is correct, many of the teeth, especially the front ones, fall out as the gums dry out! In fact two of the front teeth were lost and had to be fabricated from a hog's tooth!

But I pull ALL of the teeth to clean them to prevent unpleasant smells!

This is a bit more time consuming but it also makes it easy to paint the skull witout painting the teeth!

The photo doesn't show it well but I painted all of the teeth chrome!
I did this for two reasons!
1st-the teeth on this coyote were an odd color. Some almost appeared to be full of blood. They had a pink to red tone to them.
2nd- to add a drastic contrast and make the teeth REALLY stand out!

Interesting info. And a neat skull mount to be sure.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.
