1st one is a catahoula cross with blue heeler. Six weeks yesterday and nothing out of the norm.
Second is 8 weeks / lab / 57 Yesterday fine except she acted like she was lazy. This evening acting like she is drunk.
I am not a dog person. I got these for my 2 little boys before they come for the summer.
Is it a case of the breed being not coordinated at that age or am I looking at a puppy with health issues that A- need to see the vet? B- something that probably is gonna not be good news?

I think they need to see a vet.

Dont know if my last post went through. Catahoula is from a vet. The other ias a rescue. Does the description sound like something that is contagious ? Should I seperate them ?

I'd take the pup to the vet. By chance did you put any on the spot flea treatment on the pups?
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

It is expected for a 8 week old Labrador puppy to be reckless and uncoordinated. Are you sure your just not seeing normal puppy behavior? Puppies tend to play hard then sleep hard. Could be having a tummy ache too if you changed food brand from what the vet/rescue started with. And a puppy just removed from it's home and mother is going to be traumatized and go through a whole range of emotions till the pup starts settling in and bonding with it's new owners. Raised puppies before?

I would take the pup to the vet for no other reason other than to have a general health check. Obviously the pup that came from the vet will most likely had its puppy shots but the rescue will most likely need its shots and in most cases a good worming.

I keep tons of rescues every year. never I mean never put a new rescue pup young or old with others till you see a vet .and get all appropriate shots . parvo will kill pups faster and you can react.
