Just finished my first batch on my new tumbler. The brass comes out looking like gold!

I enjoy mine - I feel like Silas Marner looking over a pile of coins every time. Do take care to dry carefully.

I enjoy mine - I feel like Silas Marner looking over a pile of coins every time. Do take care to dry carefully. I've had the brass spread out on a towel all day under a fan. Was thinking about priming this evening but think I'll wait another day. How long do you dry after tumbling? And what is your method?

Looks good. I just got a STM Tumbler as well and ready to get it all set up and going.

With STS tumbling, I think it is a good idea to get a universal depriming die to remove the primer before tumbling. That should help it dry a lot faster. Then go through the sizing (etc) prep stages.

I usually get my brass clean enough to resize and finish prepping all the way to the end, then tumble them in stainless. Stainless media is hard to beat!

Yep. I use a universal decapper and then tumble. Rarely need more than 2 hrs. Used to then dry in a wire basket set atop a dual fan overnight. But have just started placing in oven at 175 for 90 min. Works more consistently. No smell no mess from the oven and well below brass tempering temp.

Pay attention to neck tension, sometimes it is difficult to get a consistent neck tension with new brass (basically that is what you have when you use SS tumbler). Some folks add lube to bullets when using SS tumbler.
I've all but quit using my SS tumbler, unless I have Imperial lube in my necks that I'm trying to dispose of after turning the necks. For that fact, I don't tumble my brass at all anymore. I clean up the outside of the necks with steel wool then reload. Carbon in necks isn't a bad thing.
Good stuff but almost too good at times.

I rinse mine and then give them a quick alcohol bath. After that they dry very quickly.
