I should be able to hit a mile soon, but .96 miles is pretty damn close.

Can't see the video right now, but well done!
Are you sub-sonic around 1500 yards? Things get tricky when it goes sub-sonic.

I was just barely subsonic here. 1050 FPS Remaining. .317 G7 / .618 G1 BC was helpful.

What magnification do you have your optic on when shooting that far?

I was at 24x , but backed down to 18 I think for this shot. My can is so long, and the FOV is so wide on the Kahles, that I was getting some funky sight picture when the cover got in the view.

Are you sub-sonic around 1500 yards? Things get tricky when it goes sub-sonic. I was just barely subsonic here. 1050 FPS Remaining. .317 G7 / .618 G1 BC was helpful. Let me correct that, at 1460 yards I was at 1130 FPS. That should be going subsonic here. I always think 1050, as that's the highest I want to load subsonic ammo for! Distance 1,690 yards. Elevation dialed from 100 yard zero. 21.10 Mils. Wind held, .4 mils, POI Elevation was dead center, wind was …. .4 mils off, It was a really dead wind day Vertical Coriolis -0.11 mil Horizontal Coriolis 0.14 mil Spin Drift R 0.44 mil Remaning Velocity 1040 FPS. Remaning Energy 336 ftlb (more than a 55gr FMJ at 400 yards) Time of Flight 3.1 seconds. Time of shot fired, to hear the impact 8 seconds Max Ordinate 523.14 inches. Total Drop 1278.52 inches. Range at which transonic velocity transition begins 1206 yards 75% though transsonic range at 1400 yards Subsonic (1130 FPS) at 1460 yards

Question:
At that range, if the bulley hit you(or animal) is it just thru and thru with minimal damage? Or does the kinetic energy create a larger wound than the ft. Numbers would suggest?
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

My 260 would deliver 318 ft/lbs at that range and in the current environment.
But I don't know how the bullet would behave on impact.

Has about the same energy as a 9mm, and more energy that a 55gr .223 at 400 yards. So I don't know really. I would be interested to find out.

I would be interested to know how a bullet does on game at that range.
I've heard conflicting reports on how a the round behaves on impact at that range.
I've seen bullets pulled out of geletain at long range and they barely have any front end expansion but again, I would be interested how the wound channel looks

But I don't know how the bullet would behave on impact. I want a 260 W. Went pig hunting a few times with a buddy of mine shooting a 260 at night. I never fired it, was his gun so let him shoot. That gun really impressed me. At night when it's really quiet and I'm standing off to the side watching with NV, that gun sounded like a rocket and when it hit a pig I was watching the impact & sounded like someone snapped a 2X4. He offered to sell the gun later because ammo was so hard to find and expensive if you don't reload. I was gonna buy it anyway because I liked the gun & want to get into reloading anyway but his brother had dibs on it. Three pigs killed that night for dog food with the 260 - body shots, only one needed a second shot. Range was around 75 yrds on one of the bigger ones and close to 150 yrds on the other. The two bigger ones scaled just under 300lbs. The smaller one scaled right at 225 & shot at just over 100 yrds. I skinned/quartered them and inspected the damage. The 260 is impressive. The coyotes ate the butt off of the black pig before we loaded it up. Only took them 5 minutes to find it. Sorry, didn't mean to thread jack.

Furthest shot I've taken on a deer with my Creedmoor was 200 yards, with a 130gr VLD and it hammered that deer DRT. It was a huge doe. I also took a coyote at 350, no issues.
