I picked up a rock island tactical in pretty rough shape. Somebody had beat the slide serrations to death. Plus scratches and scars everywhere. Took it out to shoot and it was excellent. Performed flawlessly. So I put some lipstick on the pig.

Note the serrations before and after. Lots of file work.

Yours looks better than mine!

I bought a beat up RIA 1911 from a friend who needed some cash. The internals were in rough shape, like it had been shot a lot without proper lubrication.



First I made it a zombie gun (then I got annoyed with the whole zombie thing)



Then I refinished it and gave it to my dad. (a little dirty here)
