Traded 2 used Remington 870 shotguns for a wilder 10" 375 Wildey Mag auto pistol in Stainless with a Leupold scope 500 rounds of loaded ammo and 100 shot rounds fir reload and die set and holster. Hey he asked me to trade................he bought and then realized it kicked too much for his wrist!

I got $1800 for it and all the brass after I shot them.

When Winchester dropped the Model 88 the wholesale hardware company dropped them from the catalog. A few months later one of the stores sent one back to the warehouse. Rather than go through the trouble to put it back in the catalog and delete it after one sale the buyer offered to sell it to me for $50.00. I jumped on it and later added a 3x9 Redfield Widefield. My son still hunts with it and it is still the most accurate rifle I have ever owned.

Not a smoking deal but in my eyes was one of my best buys for the money. A mint late 60's model Marlin 39A golden mountie. $200.00. Ill never sell and was actually in the market for a great gun to pass down to my son! Every time i move it around in the safe, it puts a smile on my face!!

I went to a garage sale once and picked up a Ruger New Model single six in .22lr and an original 3-screw single six in .22mag for a crisp $100 bill.

my best was an old knife I thought was cool but didn't know what it was. paid $70, collector buddy told me what it was and it was big money, wasn't best shape, but put on eBay for $850 and it didn't last 6 hours before someone bought it and was as happy as could be.

you guys are picking things up far cheaper than my buddies who are dealers at shows, incredible.

$2 pistol -
Garage sale paid $2 for a box labeled "Old Gun Parts"
Most of it was garbage but all the pieces for a 1945 H&R 22 9round revolver
In 1945 only a few thousand civilian pistols (1,200 ?)were made due to WWII.
H&R threw together a few out of spare parts.
Gun is not very valuable but it shoots well and my son loves it because of the history.
Great $2 pistol.

Was at a gunshow last year late on a Sunday as most of the dealers were packing everything up to leave.
Walking past the last few tables left with any guns on them and a little black plastic pistol caught my eye and noticed it was some type of Walther. I never owned, handled, or shot any Walther model and was basically indifferent towards them. Picked this one up from the table just out of curiosity and it was Love at First Grip! I dry-fired it once and was HOOKED! Just then noticed it was a PPQ M2 9mm which of course I never heard of at the time. The crotchety older gent behind the table wasn't very helpful when I asked a couple questions and the pistol didn't have a price tag so I just asked how much it was and if he took plastic. He didn't know the price off the top of his head and was very irritated about looking it up. I knew I didn't have much cash left but dug out $290 and he said that was close enough. Even before I fired the first shot at the range, I knew that was the best deal I'd ever gotten on a gun. After owning it for over a year now and close to 1000 rds through it, seeing the going rate for them now, I know it's doubtful I'll ever get a better deal. BTW, have the 5" model on order now and perfectly happy to pay full price :-)

I had a moving company back in the 1990's, one of my workers did not show so I went instead. In a closet I was packing, found a 1873 Winchester 38-40. I asked him if he had a case to place it or what. He said he was gonna throw it away and asked if I wanted it, he said it was junk. Of course I told him I would take it. SCORE! Both the rifle and the bore were in good shape. Hard to beat free!

I don't know if it was the best deal I've made but a guy on here sold me an R15 in .30RAR. Couple of boxes of ammo and unused new reloading dies for $900. He said he had shot it at the range about 12 times so I figured there had been a couple hundred rounds through it. When I got home I opened the ammo and there was 12 spent casings in one box. The other was still full. Great shooting rifle.

2 years ago picked up a Cabelas closeout on the previous generation Weatherby Vanguard (blued with plastic stock) chambered in the fantastic 300 Weatherby Mag for $349.99 plus tax.

I found a used wood Vanguard stock on eBay for $80, refinished it and ended up with a nice looking rifle!
