I am looking to buy another springfield to add to my collection. This will be a concealed carry weapon. I like the XDS for size just do not like how it only holds 7 with the extended mag. I like the barrels to be just under 4 (i think xds has 3.3 and xdm has 3.8). The XDM shows to be slightly heavier and wider.

I currently have an xd40 and XDGap 45 that my dad gave me and love them. The XDS does not come in 40 so if I wanted to keep the same caliber I would have to go with the xdm. Otherwise I would have to start a new collection of 9mm or regular 45.

How comfortable is the xdm to carry vs xds?

What are your opinions on the 2 and my situation.

I've never handled the XDM myself. I was semi happy with my XD before I sold it, and I'm VERY happy with my XDs. I'd get another XDs in a heartbeat.

I love my XDS. I have the 3.3 9mm which holds 9 with the extended mag.

That was my next question. I just looked at the xdm and xds. Ilike both but for carry I like the xds. Now I cant decide between the 45 or 9. I have 2 45's but no 9mm. I do like the idea of being able to load more rounds

I bought the 3.3" in 9 and this was my thinking:

More rounds
Easier to conceal
Possibly more manageable recoil

Also I was anticipating the 4.0" 45. If I was going to get both cals and both lengths I'd rather have the shorty 9and the bigger 45.

Daily carry is a xd-sc and I love it. No issues carrying it. Have tried a friends xds and I love how they show but didn't see a big benefit carrying a single stack

XDS...45 Whatever and wherever you hit something....it's going down.

I have both an XDs 3.3 45 and an XDs 4.0 9mm. Both are carried in a crossbreed iwb. Honestly I would go with the 4 inch model. I like the sight radius better and it carries exactly the same. I have to say I bought my XDs 45 long before the recall and the recall ruined the trigger on that gun.

xds in 4 inch? I have not looked at those yet.

they call them the 4.0 The 9 has been out for a while but they just released the 45
