Hi guys, wanted to introduce myself and my new pup, Dixie. She's a 9 week old Chesapeake Bay Retriever from Cur-sans Kennel in Wisconsin. She was delivered last week by Kati at Move the Dog. I'm a first time dog-owner and plan on training her myself. I'm sure I'll be on here from time to time for advice, and hopefully to brag on how Dixie's coming along! Thanks in advance for the help!

Congratulation on the new family member; having a puppy in many ways is like having a new baby. Lots of crying, whimpering, and messes on the floor. Plan on spending a lot of bonding time with her especially at this age. If you can not devote the time into training you may wish to begin the search for trainers now.

Good luck,

Great looking CBR and welcome. I would highly recommend joining one or more of the Houston area HRC Retriever clubs. They are a great resource for anyone training their own pup. http://www.huntingretrieverclub.org/localclubsites.shtml

Blanked- she was picked up on a Wednesday morning and was in my driveway on Thursday by 5:30 PM. And, she was happy when she got there!!
