My big duck guide doesn't guide for teal. I have 3-6 hunters that would like a hunt this fall.
Can anyone suggest a guide around DFW?

Teal season will suck this year. No water. The full moon is before the season starts.

If you're gonna pay money to teal hunt, don't do it around DFW, head down to the coastal prairie.

Can anyone suggest a guide around DFW? Why do you want a guide? Do you think a guide will mean you are guaranteed a good hunt? Guides don't do teal hunts for a reason, teal are here one day and gone the next. If you just want to get out with your buds and have a good time, and roll the dice on seeing some birds (all you would get with a N Tex Guide), just find any water (public or private) and throw out some cheap mallard hens and a mojo (dove mojo works) and more than likely you will get some teal to buzz your spread.. Especially on opening morning, seems I always see some teal on open morning.... And if full moon as posted above, they will be on the move, so any water spot you can get a teal fly-by, especially with a mojo they love it....

If you're gonna pay money to teal hunt, don't do it around DFW, head down to the coastal prairie. this is correct...any teal hunt booked north of I-10 is a crap shoot no matter how good someone thinks a guide is...the "good" ones dont book teal hunts up there for a reason
Attention rickym, this is not a troll post, just a good hearted fun type of post

It's a reference to a fictious regulation that started going around on Internet forums back in the days of windows 98. It was used to troll forum "n00bs" by the veterans who have been around the forum circuit for at least a month or 2. The staying power of the running joke is strong among weak minded indivuals who can't come up with any new material to troll the n00bs. The originators of the joke have since moved on, however they still live in infamy as at least a half dozen or so snickering indivuals bring up the lame [censored] joke each year, laughing at their own jokes and hoping at least one fish will take the bait, so all his buddies can pile on.
I like spoonie, his humor is dryer than my duck lease.

Sure, but last season we had a large pond in north texas with 200 teal on it staying for the entire 12 days. Did not want to drive to houston and spend gas and motel to see more birds. Every time i went to houston guides pile you up with 10 other yahoos and the hunt was over in 15 minutes thanks to an idiot shooting 7,5 lead at them. Game wardens showed up and i only fired 1 shot claiming 1 bird. I had to see flock after flock of teal landing while gw was buzy with that bonehead. No thanks, ill pass. Rather stay in north texas

Try captain Brandon Kendrick at Ruffling feathers guide service. He is in Port O and they don't stack you like cord wood like the Katty Prairie guides do

After reading this thread, I think I will just drive to Kansas to Teal hunt. But then that is what I was thinking of doing before I read this thread. Sorry fishsing, I have never been on a guided teal hunt, so I have nothing other than both JJ and Jeff on the forum both seem to post up some good hunts from just outside the DFW area where you are looking.
