Picked up an old rusty Thompson Center Hawkin 50cal cheap.
Barrel was painted black to cover up bad pitting and rusting.
Now I want another one to do. Here is the before and after.









After hours of elbow grease...

Looks fantastic but I would be more concerned with what the inside of the barrel looked like unless it is a wall hanger. But still it looks great!

Just a wall hanger. I just ran a patch through with oil a few times.

You can have it rebored to .54 caliber for about $100. Go with a 1:60 twist and you'll have a great round ball shooter.
