Not accurate at least, last couple of years have been hard on the deer population due to drought.

Google deer densities. Won't give population by county, but you can see relative densities.

Last report I heard, which was 5 or so years ago, was that Texas had exceeded the 4 million mark. But as stated above, the lack of rain has probably put a dent in that number .

QDMA has a map. Not sure where they get the data and how accurate it is though.
