I am new to the forum. I have looked at it for awhile now but just signed up. I have a question.
I just put out a stealth cam IR430 and got some great pics. I also got quite a few that where totally or nearly all white. I assume it is washout from the IR, it is mostly just after dawn but there was one day that it did it all morning. I know why it was tripping as I was hunting and there were crows flying in, but dont know why it was all white.
I made sure the sun angle wasnt an issue but wondered what you guys out there could tell me on the topic.
I suppose this along with some blurring and some blanks are to be expected or is there something I can do to improve my results?
Thanks

Fog might be the culprit. especially if it happens early in the morning.
You never know what you will see with a game cam, I have had some strange things on mine too!
Bartender, bring me anything except brake fluid, cause I don't plan on stopping!

It was fun to look at them. I am pretty sure I have 5 different bucks but none very big. It is less than 30 acres and I hunt elsewhere as well. This is my first time to hunt it. I let a friend shoot a doe in november, and I was hoping for a decent buck. Letting them all walk till next year.
Oh, and it was a clear day on at least one of the occasions. I did notice the temp dipped to 14 but when I looked through them all again I think it was malfunctioning as the the temp before and after were not consistent with what was really happening.

Set the camera to the North or South, North being the better setting. East and West you're going to whiteouts from the sun.

It may be a software issue, sometimes you can download updated software to the camera off the net. Go to chasingame.com and read up about it. These guys have tried about every camera out there and are quite knowledgeable.

Thanks. I have everything set up right so I will see if I can locate a possible software update. I will check chasingame, they have done a lot of research from what I have seen like you said.

Make sure the lens is clean.Dust gathering on the lens can reflect the sunlight ans cause a blurred or whiteout pic.JMO
