I recently picked up a Glock 42 for a summer CCW and took it to the range last week. I was thoroughly impressed with the little Glock 42 and didn't have any issues or failures. I shot 75 rounds and it grouped very well. It was surprisingly accurate for a subcompact pocket pistol. The only other 380 subcompact I have owned was a Sig P238. The sig didn't have any issues but I prefer the Glock 42. The 42 is all Glock and shoots like any other larger Glock. The pictures below we're all from 8yards. The other two guns are my Dan Wesson Valor and Kimber Pro Carry II 9mm. The glock of course wasn't as accurate but all shots were on the paper. This was a smaller target as you can see and I just wanted to share.

Looks accurate enough. I love my 1911 though and shoot groups like that. It's probably me but I can't group like that on any other gun.

Thanks. I will take that grouping from a pocket pistol! It weighs close to 6 ounces less than the Sig 238 which makes for easier carry. It is just a hair smaller than my cell phone which is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Looks like Glock has made some changes to the 42 already. Mainly in the magazine and the slide stop.

Buddy recently found one at CTD. I have the Sig P238. Can't wait to try the Glock. Love my Sig though

Looks like a good choice in a 380.

How do they compare in size to the shield. I can pocket carry my shield, but it's about as big as I would want. I was thinking the 42 is a little bigger.

I've been looking at these as well. Something for the wife to carry...

Thanks ruger for the range report. 42 seems barely smaller than a shield 9 IMO.
