Another little talked about fact is the type of plowing (or non-plowing) done today. When I was a kid in the 70's growing up in SE Kansas, we would disc in all the crops after fall harvest. We would get the September rains, the grain on the ground would sprout and by October would be dead. Today, we no-till most of our crops, so very little disking takes place. After fall harvest, still lots of grain on bottom of stocks and on the ground. Since it hasn't been plowed, less grain sprouts and a lot stays all winter for the ducks/deer/etc to eat. The duck hunting in South Kansas from Independence to Sedan, to Arkansas city, to Cheney.... anyway, most of them hold ducks all winter now. Even in the 80's, the ducks were gone by Thanksgiving and the geese would come in. By Christmas, the geese would be gone and we didn't have any wild hogs to hunt

His landowner probably saw his post about bashing oil and gas, and at this exact time is beating the life out of beaver with his royalty check

I live day by day. Today i am golfing, tomorrow im crowhunting, monday i will be pigeonhunting in the rain. Tuesday i might die, god and god only is in control of what i am doing. The chase of money is absolutely not one of my priority, i d rather be a cash cow cattle baron . As long as i can tickle captain jeff every now and then, i will be content and feel complete.

All joking aside, I know alot of folks desperately need this drought to subside. I realize its all a cycle and Im not going to pretend I understand it but it seems to have been around quite a long time now.

I realize its all a cycle and Im not going to pretend I understand it but it seems to have been around quite a long time now. Only one thing that's going to break us and unfortantly that means bad things for our southern counter parts. But yes we need the water and consistantly over the next 3 months

I say what's that for? He said the deer.. I laughed said probably better to buy it up their its cheaper (trying to be nice and not tell him he is a dumb arse)..whole way up there he was worried about that corn and mad at me for not letting hom bring it. First morning saw a bunch of roosters in a circle and we jumped out and he saw all the corn on the ground and started laughing. He said hell I should a brought an empty 55gal barrel.
