No, it's really not. Their fangs are in the back of their mouth. With a snake that small, it's very hard to get bit. About the only place an adult can get bit is the webbing of the hand and other thin areas.

Yes, it is a myth, coral snakes fangs ARE NOT in the back of their mouth. They are in the front, however they are much shorter fangs than a pit viper's and the fangs are not retractible like a pit vipers. I also know someone who was bitten by one, right on top of the hand.

I like snakes but I do not mess with the hot ones, to much chance of getting bit. If you really look at the hot one's they are some of the most beautiful patterned snakes moving.
